Taming
◥
◤
Taming Basics
Taming is a difficult process and takes a lot of work. Of course, the higher your rank, then the easier taming will become. To tame a Pokemon, you require a loyal and strong Pokemon partner to take out some of the most aggressive Pokemon.
In short, taming requires respect and mutual understanding. No tamer will get anywhere if they are cruel to a Pokemon for no reason. Establishing respect with a Pokemon is the key to taming them and making them loyal.
If you want to rule the pack, you have to show them you are a good alpha, and other times, that you are a lot stronger. That is where your partner comes in. During some taming activities, you might need to fight a Pokemon off if it endangers your life or the life of other Pokemon.
When taming a Pokemon, you need to be willing to spend time with it. Usually taming takes place in the arena, because it is a large area that offers plenty of room to maneuver.
There are two forms of taming: post taming and reply taming.
Post Taming
Reply Taming
Pokemon Difficulty Level
Each difficulty is listed in order. Some Pokemon may not apply to this, for example: a pseudo-legendary line does not count as a first/second/third stage evolution.
Once a Pokemon is tame they are tame through all evolutions.
The number of "post" listed is in post count Post Taming. The number of "reply" is post count Reply Taming.
Please take note: your rank can affect how many turns it takes to tame a Pokemon here. Please refer to your rank and be sure to mention your rank when taming a Pokemon so you can have less turns needed. Example: If you are Rank V (Obsidian Cuff) and you want to tame a first stage, you can do so automatically by "post" and in two post by "reply".
First Stage Evolution: 4 post ; 6 reply
Second Stage Evolution: 8 post ; 12 reply
Third Stage Evolution: 16 post ; 24 reply
Pseudo-Legendary Pokemon (all stages): 20 post ; 25 reply
Legendary Pokemon: 50 post ; 100 reply
Breeding Basics
Tamers, as being the trainers of Pokemon, are also considered professional breeders. Tamers can only breed at the Topaz Rank.
How to breed:
Have a male and female Pokemon. Egg Group does not matter here.
Place those Pokemon together in your taming thread (or in a new breeding thread in the sub-boards of the Arena) and ping staff (@staff name here).
The female Pokemon will be put in gestation for three real life days (items can be purchased to shorten this time).
Eggs are laid after this time. You do not need staff for this but staff will make sure eggs are not laid before then.
Eggs will hatch one real life week after being laid by the female. PM staff after this waiting period and they will hatch the egg(s) for you (items can be purchased to shorten this time).
The female that just bred will not be able to breed for two real life weeks (items can be bought to shorten this time).
You can have one or two eggs per every breeding. No items exist as of yet to give you a set number.
No items exist to promise a shiny or special Pokemon.
Legendaries cannot breed.
Tamer Ranks
Tamer ranks offer certain perks once one is reached. Complete the goal and contact staff, who will then make your new rank official.
